In 2019, the Commonwealth of Virginia established the Virginia Coordinated Clinical Research Network to leverage the clinical research footprint in the Commonwealth. VCCRN identifies and recruits patients for researchers thereby creating greater opportunities for public and private funding and the commercialization of breakthrough products and services. VCCRN is guided by an Advisory Council that provides expertise and strategy as representatives of the three primary stakeholder groups: healthcare, life sciences, and higher education.
The mission of VCCRN is to foster collaboration to accelerate the growth and impact of clinical research and trials across the Commonwealth.
VCCRN will enhance the collective power of healthcare, higher education, and biotechnology/life sciences to make Virginia a national leader in clinical research and trials, address health disparities and improve outcomes, and generate economic growth.
